BUSINESS WITH SINNERS

Before I start, I don't believe in, nor condone, nor recognize the marriage of anyone unless it's one man and one woman. The Bible specifically speaks against the acts of homosexuality (Lev 18:22; 20:13; Rom 1:26-27; 1 Cor 6:9).

While I do not support same sex marriages, I'm going to weigh in on the increasing number of business' who are refusing to provide a service to gay couples - and condemn these also.

I do agree with churches in their refusal to marry same sex couples. In a church, the bases of marriage comes upon a joining by God - the same God who condemns such practices. It's a hands on approach to the marriage process and, I believe, pastors are accountable to God who what they do in the process. I would say others believe this also or they would not be refusing to conduct the services. The same sex act is considered to be an act of sin against God.

As an added note, since we are not to marry same sex couples, we then should not marry atheist, people living in lust (porn), un-Biblically divorced people, and the likes. None are any more a sin than the other. This would be why churches use to require pre-marrital counseling - a practice that has vastly fallen away in my generation. Those who did not want to abide by the laws of God would go to another legal source for their marriage vows, through the government.

There is a fear that a US law that sanctions the marriage same sex marriages will cause the shutting down of churches who refuse to marry the couples. I would say that a church who refuses to marry any couple in sin would stand with a stronger defense then those who pick and choose based on the sin. Maybe it's time the church returns to the roots.... Bible.

It's becoming increasingly popular for business owners, such as cake shops, flower shops, etc. to refuse the service of same sex couples. Nowhere in the Bible did God prohibit the doing of business with sinners - NOWHERE. Baking a cake or making flower arraignments is not a religious, Biblically affiliated, business that is held accountable for their civil business with sinners.

This definitely does not leave a door open for the gospel by shutting the door on the sinner. And, if the civil business refuses to do business with same sex marriages because it's a sin, do they do business with people who watch porn (Matt 5:28), people who are angry with someone for unjust causes (Matt 5:22) with people who are getting married to an un-Biblically divorced other (Matt 5:31-33); how about with mason's (Matt 5:33-37)?

I'll leave this here with another portion of The Sermon on the Mount; by Messiah Yeshua:

“ You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. ’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect
(Matthew 5:43-48 NKJV)
