PINNACLE ANNIVERSARY

Just a little less than 2000 years ago, on this very day (not friday), Messiah Y'shua died for all those who are willing to enter into the Renewed Covenant with Him: this is Nisan 14.

This Holiday, which was set up by Elohim our Creator, is an eight day holiday starting with Passover day (today) then continues into seven more days (starting at sunset tonight) called the Feast's of Unleavened Bread. Exodus 12:15 records the instructions given, in which we are to eat unleavened bread for seven days. Why did I say we; was this not just for Israel? Christ and Paul showed and taught to keep this holiday (we'll get to this more in a moment).

"For to this you were called, because Y'shua also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His Steps" 1 Peter 2:11

"Imitate me, just as I also imitate Messiah Y'shua" 1 Corinthians 11:1

Y'shua was our example. Many often say this, but then refuse to follow the example He gave: they site misconceptions of Paul's writings to remove themselves from the examples Christ gave. What of this holiday season? We'll continue here in a moment but bear with me as I explain the symbolism of this holiday season.

Leaven is fermentation of a substance: yeast, fermented flour, vinegar, etc. In the days of old, they would allow their old flour to ferment then add that clump to fresh flour to cause a rising within the flour, yet leaving out a new clump to ferment for the next batch of flour: today, we use yeast.

Leaven is symbolized as sin in the Bible, and according to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Original Covenant symbolism was an example and shadow of what is real. The lamb sacrificed on Passover day was a symbol of Y'shua, THE Lamb, that would be sacrificed on the same day. Even in Exodus 12:11, we see "this is the LORD's Passover"; which also foreshadows this day's Passover Meal with Y'shua and His disciples. The days of ridding our homes and bodies of leaven is a symbolism of ridding our homes and bodies of sin. Those who did not remove the leaven from them home would be cut off from Israel (Ex 12:15); and, this was for both Israel and the Gentile (Ex 12:19). This symbolizes those who do not remove sin from their lives will be cut off from Spiritual Israel (Romans 9:6-8; Gal 3:29). This has not changed:

"Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off" Romans 11:22

We are commanded to turn from our sinful ways (1 John 2:1, 15-16; 5:8; Rom 6:3-6, 12-13; John 3:36; Acts 3:26; Titus 2:14; Heb 5:9; 1 Cor 15:34) , we are to removed that sin from our lives and from our homes: this means ALL sin, as we are commanded to sin not. That which YHWH commands is not impossible; except only in a rebellious mind.

Any level of sin is dangerous in our lives. In Matthew 13:33, Y'shua tells of a parable in which a woman (symbolizing the church) hides leaven (sin) within her and the whole lump became leavened. Any amount of sin, hidden within our religious covering, will ferment the rest. It's not any secret that sin ferments and grows; thus we are to remove all sin to prevent this. Paul corroborates our understanding, while correcting a church, in 1 Corinthians 5:6 "Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?". Paul then continues "purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us". We are to unleaven our lives.

So, should we keep these Passover feast days? There was a reason Y'shua refused the "sour wine"; which is vinegar from grapes (fermentation) (Matt 27:34 - Koemetz meaning pungent or fermented / ox-os sour wine). Paul also continued in 1 Corinthians 5:8 "Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."

Some want to make this about law verses grace. Some want to call this ceremonial law that no longer must be kept, but this was a portion of the example and shadow of the Torah (Hebrews 8:5): we are to sill keep this time for an example tells us what we are to do in the real; a shadow is a form of what is in the real. It's not that it means anything for salvation as much as it's a "fasting" of leaven: a symbolism of removing the sin from our lives. If we are unwilling to do something so simple; if we are too rebellious to remove the physical symbol of sin, as did our Messiah even on the cross and commanded by Paul of this day, then we are obviously too rebellious to remove the sin from our lives.

Take this time, which our Jewish Messiah Y'shua also celebrated and kept, and do it showing the authority in our life, showing our desire to remove the sin.

YET!! DON'T do this for just running through the motions; for this will mean nothing, do this only if you love God, because we want to show Him that He has authority in our lives, because we WANT to rid ourselves of the leaven which will leaven our whole lump and removed us from that which is the Israel of the Renewed Covenant.

Blessings in Adonai and Happy Passover
