WHO ARE YOU FEEDING?

Christ, in talking in Matt 24, said there will be a time of tribulation. Yeshua was not talking of the very end but rather of when the temple was destroyed; for that generation would not pass away when these events happened. So, is there going to be a time of tribulation for us in the end?

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Tim 3:1 (KJV)

So Paul says there will be perilous times in the end days also; but what kind of perilous times? What kind of tribulation will the church see in the end days? Paul explains.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Tim 3:2-5 (KJV)

I believe the majority of the guilt falls in the statement “lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God”. For that which you feed will be that which is strong. If we feed the flesh and starve the spirit, fleshly things we will do. We will become lovers of our own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, and highminded.

We think we can’t have fun in the things of God. We think we need TV, video games, facebook, sports, and other things to have fun. But, we find that, when denying the flesh, our pleasure turns towards other things. It’s really hard to explain, but when you feed your spirit and starve the flesh, your pleasure starts to be in the things revolving around the spirit and you start, naturally, leaving alone the things that feed the flesh (Romans 12:21).

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Romans 13:14 (KJV)

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 8:12-13 (KJV)
